Melloxy is a new and unique formula that combines the healing properties of medical grade honey and ozonated olive oil. When the gel is in contact with the wound, fluid is extracted from the surrounding tissues. The osmotic action creates a moist wound-healing environment and together with the honey stimulates the healing process, facilitates autolysis and promotes better epithelial cell migration. The effective killing of bacteria is safeguarded by the presence of the antibacterial ozonated oil.(1) Melloxy combines three actions, namely the osmotic, autolytic and bacteriostatic, in one single product. The gel will dilute gradually, will not adhere to the wound and can be removed with a wound cleanser. Melloxy is a primary wound dressing that can be covered by most commonly used secondary dressings.

A 78 years old female patient developed a wound on her leg. This wound is classified as a venous ulcer. The patient suffered from several underlying health issues which impeded healing. The wound was treated with several other wound care products; however, it failed to heal.

Wound healing was accomplished with the SanoSkin series and the human suffering was finally resolved.

Initially, the wound site was cleansed with SanoSkin Cleanser to remove dirt and debris and prepare the infected area for the application of Melloxy. Compression therapy was also part of the wound management plan and it was applied at all times. Healing took place in 40 days for this wound, which failed to heal previously. The moist-healing environment did not allow scar formation.

Non-healing wound at start.

Non-healing wound was finally healed within 40 days.
