SanoSkin Melladerm Plus is designed specifically for the patients with necrotic or sloughy wounds. This medical grade honey can be diluted 30 times before losing its antibacterial effect(3). When the gel is in contact with the wound, due to the high sugar content of honey, fluid is extracted from the surrounding tissue. The osmotic action creates a moist wound-healing environment and together with the honey stimulates the wound healing process, facilitates autolysis and promotes epithelial migration(5). The gel dilutes gradually and can be removed easily with a wound cleanser, if required. SanoSkin Melladerm Plus is a primary wound dressing that can be covered by most commonly used secondary dressings.

A 16 months old baby was burnt with hot boiling water at home. The wound was heavily inflamed and the arm swollen. The doctor decided to treat the baby with SanoSkin Melladerm PLUS and SanoSkin Foam (a secondary dressing to absorb the fluids). Healing took place within 20 days for this burn and improvement was observed within the first 48 hours of use.

Healing was accomplished and the human suffering was finally resolved

Initially, the burn was cleansed with SanoSkin Cleanser to prepare the burnt area for the application of SanoSkin Melladerm PLUS. Then, the burn was covered with SanoSkin Foam (a secondary dressing to absorb the fluids) and dressing changes occurred every 48 hours.

Burn at the beginning of the treatment with SanoSkin Melladerm PLUS.

Wound after 48 hours. The wound is less inflamed and the arm no longer swollen.

Result after 20 days of SanoSkin Melladerm PLUS and SanoSkin Foam treatment.
